Kathmandu, Dec 1 : Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya has said time has come for planned development for tourism potential in Kathmandu and Pokhara cities.
During the visit of Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC), Mayor Shakya viewed that if the activities of tourism promotion were forwarded by linking natural specificities of Pokhara and cultural specificities of Kathmandu, it would help a lot to country's mission to economic prosperity.
Similarly, PMC Mayor Man Bahadur GC hoped KMC as the largest metropolis in the federal capital could help in solving the problems faced by all municipalities.
Laws should be formulated as per the federal spirit of the country so the new system would be enforced effectively, he said, adding, "Let's search for common features of the cities despite diversity.
Let's talk about the potentials in other municipalities too, which develops trust on people."
On the occasion, KMC Deputy Mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi said local levels have direct link to people rather than federal and province governments, so the local governments throughout the country should have deep relations and cooperation.
