Bhadrapur, Nov 29 : Kaiya Ram Chhetri, a guard at local Pathibhara community forest, has been killed by a wild elephant last night. The incident took place at Kachanakabal Rural Municipality-7.
Chhetri, 62, was attacked by the pachyderm at 7 pm on Thursday when he had gone to shut the gate of the electric fence around the community forest. He died on the spot, the Division Forest Office, Jhapa said. The fence has been constructed to prevent the wild elephants from entering human settlements.
