Actress Dhungana to do web series on the Geeta

Kathmandu, Sept. 15: After the success of the hymn “Bakratunda Mahakaya”, actress Nita Dhungana is all set to produce and direct another ambitious project, “Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta” based on the great Hindu scripture.
Nita will now direct the 45- episode web series, which will be aired on YouTube and television.
Talking to The Rising Nepal, the actress said, “I think this will be the first religious presentation in Nepal based on the most revered religious text of the Hindus, and it will be the most challenging job for me on all fronts.”
She further said that the budget of the series would reach about Rs. 2.5 million and the series is based on the Mahabharata, so it is a big project.
“I have a great challenge to justify the story and character of such a great text of Hinduism,” she said.
Sharing the purpose of producing the religious web series spending such a huge amount of money, she said that the new generation people were not aware about Hinduism and she wanted to spread awareness about the importance of Hinduism through her web series.
This series will present the dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna. However, she has not disclosed the artistes doing the roles of Lord Krishna and Arjuna.
She said that there would be four major characters--Dhritarashtra, Sanjaya , Arjun and Krishna, and she was planning to disclose the characters with suitable attires soon.
She said that shooting of her new project would start only after two months as it would take time to prepare the set.
“After receiving a good response to my hymn ‘Bakratunda Mahakaya’ I am also is preparing for her next hymn on ‘Gayatri Mantra’ with the request of audience,” she said.
Actress Dhungana entered the film industry as a child actor through the movie ‘Mitini’.
She has acted in some successful films over the years and some of her films have won the hearts of the audience.
Her roles in the film “Masan” and “Panchayat” were appreciated and she also became popular for her role in “Chha Ekan Chha” and “Notebook”.
Actress Dhungana celebrated her 28th birthday on Sunday. Every year, she used to mark her birthday with a group of friends. But this time, she celebrated her birthday at home with her family because of COVID-19 fear.
